Frisco Texas welcomed its first settlers in the early 1860’s when pioneers settling the Dallas area would travel Preston Road (known then as the Old Shawnee Trail) to this part of town. By the early 1900’s the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway was being built through the area and a community grew around the train stop. The community initially known as Emerson was eventually named Frisco, in short, after the railway.
Frisco Texas is now named Forbes seventh-fastest growing suburb in the United States and 7th in its list of Americas 25 best places to move.
